Why have the conservatives become complacent?

I just got done watching an excellent DVD called “A Christian Manifesto” by Francis A. Schaeffer. It was definitely a bit of an eye opener, for in 1982 Francis was saying how already much of our freedoms had been lost. Anyone can easily see, just “look at history” to see how far we have come and where we are going. Within the past few decades America has lost the very fundamental Christian faith and moral principles that we were founded on. Churches and Conservatives alike have become complacent, totally uncaring to the situation at hand. Abortion is overlooked, humanism is in full effect and man is nothing more than material and matter in motion. Without the care for humanity people become no more than animals and human life is merely a useless object with no meaning or purpose. As we continue in these ideologies our schools become more destitute and our future generations become more and more liberal. Our freedoms erode, our faith erodes, we become like fallen civilizations of the past.

America, America...

We could save this nation if only we stand up, and do something about it. Yet we sit here doing nothing while the liberals and main stream media biasly spoon feed us, and do nothing to stop them. Even when we do the courts will sometimes decide bias decisions even against the majority. I quote Schaeffer when I say “It’s tyranny!” that’s true and indeed there is no other word for it. Our nation, founded on Biblical principles, has fallen asleep and fallen away from what she was. If we continue we will indeed worsen to a point of no return. We take for granted our freedoms – what would you do if we lost all of our freedoms? No private property, no care for human life, a recreation of totalitarian states of old.

If we are going to do anything, we will need to speak up and get involved. This may not be easy, and yes you may get yelled at our loose jobs – but what is more important a temporal loss or the loss of an entire nation … even an eternity? My question is… why have the conservatives become complacent? :-(

CYA SeaGate! – and Here we come WesternDigital from NewEgg

After having innumerable problems with SeaGate drives (currently using model ST3500410AS), I am finally done with them. (Heh I’m not the only one)

According to SeaGate their drives never fail unless their precious “SeaTools” fails on long-test. With nearly 3,000 reallocated sectors (expect to reach this number as I type this), their program continues to say all is well. Whereas all other programs tell otherwise, including the handy dandy “Palimpsest Disk Utility” in Ubuntu.

Good'ol, trusty, and reliable Ubuntu comes through...

After contacting some tech support I got a reply simply explaining that, “those errors were caused by Ubuntu due to a recent bug mentioned here“… Really??!! Now It’s Ubuntu’s fault is it?

palimpsest seems to check the raw value against the threshold for reallocated sectors.

All other smart utilities seem to check the normalised value against the threshold. This seems to be more logical, however the developer of palimpsest seems to think the first behavior is correct as noted by him in this bug report

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500079

Ok, so I can accept that maybe it’s “Just Ubuntu”…

Mhmm just Ubuntu <_<

Funny how even Windows 7 says the same thing… and this person mentioned an issue with reallocated sectors on the same make and model on the official forums and at least got a decent reply.

Funnier still is how all the tools on the Ultimate Boot CD (I’m even running v5 RC1) also confirm this.

Better still SeaTools, (on the short pass only) says the drive is having trouble and S.M.A.R.T. has been tripped.
Tripping on SeaTools

Yet even after all of this, SeaTools long test continues to say the drive is fine. (Seems to be other topics on this as well) So fine, I admit defeat. I suppose when the needle hits the disk and I see smoke coming out during a long test it will still be screaming “PP–AA-SSS—” *as it chokes in the cloud with flames bursting from it*… :-P

But I WON’T BE BUYING A SEAGATE EVER AGAIN! And as a wise reviewer once stated

…You’ve wronged me bad, Seagate. And may never get me or any person I meet back as a customer.

That being said I just received two wonderful Western Digital drives from NewEgg.com which took only two days to ship! Of course when they arrived UPS ground decided to throw the drives carelessly in the snow next to the mailbox this afternoon, and had it not been for the tracking number telling me it it arrived “on my front door today” (lol righhtt) I would have never known. Amazingly, it was packed so well from NewEgg that the items arrived undamaged even in the snow. So like they say, once you know, you knew NewEgg. ;-) I’ll be testing these drives shortly and attempting to setup RAID1.

The Dark Angels will come forth – LEGION (2010)

Still looking for good 2010 movies? Don’t get your hopes up…

The angels will come forth... from Hell.

Thanks to online contacts I now know of another wonderful movie coming out called “Legion”, which will hit theaters in two days.
Legion claims to be another apocalyptic movie using an extremely twisted form of the Tribulation period mentioned in the Bible. (Not that anything rated R would be good anyhow)

Let me quote wikipedia for the summary

After God loses faith in humanity, the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany), who has become a fallen angel, is the only one standing between mankind and Armageddon. This time using angels to execute the Last Judgment, God’s wrath descends on Earth to exterminate the world’s population. In a desperate, last-chance gambit, Michael leads a group of strangers to a small New Mexico diner to protect a young waitress (Adrianne Palicki) who may be pregnant with Christ in his second coming.

Michael turns against God?, Christ reborn on earth?! The sheer blasphemy of this should shock most Christian viewers. Christ’s return will not be as a child — unless your referring to the Anti-Christ perhaps and certainly Michael is not the one rebelling against Him — perhaps Lucifer?…

The Bible says Jesus Christ will return from the clouds, and he won’t be coming as baby – he will be coming to bring judgment on earth…

KJV: Revelation of John Chapter 1
5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6. And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Christ will return, but not as a child!

KJV: Revelation of John Chapter 19
11. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Eh?
Burn baby, burn...

Another interesting thing, the term LEGION, besides referring to numbers, did refer to a mad man filled with demons in the bible. It seems slightly fitting for the title of a dogmatic movie such as this. :-P

Making a comeback on YouTube – Introducing the BlueMan Group

It’s been ages since I released a YouTube video, and even longer since I updated my profile there. So at the dawn of a new century I have finally decided to go ahead and update my profile and release a video. It’s a video on The Blue Man Group, known for their hilarious commercials for Intel Pentium III and Intel Pentium 4. However, they aren’t so funny when they sing 6,6,6 and then tell the crowd their music will put them in a state of hypnosis. Just watch below…

You may also note this is the first time I’ve made use of YouTube Closed Captioning (CC). Special thanks to the developer of the awesome program Subtitle Workshop (Freeware) I was able to type it up and sync it to the video in no time at all.
